Ziyārat ʿĀshūrāʾ is arguably the most famous and oft-recited of the ziyārāt or “salutations” to God’s infallible guides. It is the epitome of the genre of ziyārāt and has always been a mainstay in the daily liturgy of Shīʿī scholars and worshippers as Imam Muḥammad al-Bāqir (as) expressly intended when he taught it to his disciples.
